Make images one-on-one with Midjourney in Direct Messages!

Using Direct Messages (DMs) in Discord with the Midjourney Bot is a great way to create images in your own personal space. You don’t have to worry about the clutter or noise from public channels, and it’s super easy to set up! All Midjourney subscribers can create images in DMs, no matter which subscription plan you have.

Feel free to explore different spaces on Discord—whether shared or solo—and find what works best for you!

Even when you generate images in your DMs, they're still subject to Midjourney's content and moderation rules. Remember, these images can be seen by other users on the Midjourney website. If you'd like to keep your images private, consider using Stealth Mode.

DM the Bot

To get started you'll first need to send a Direct Message to the Midjourney Bot in Discord.

Troubleshooting

If you get an error message when you try to DM the Midjourney bot, make sure to check your Privacy Settings for the Midjourney Discord server and confirm that "Direct Messages" is toggled on.

Finding Your DMs

If you leave your Direct Messages page and need to find it again, don’t worry! Your chat history is always saved, so you can return to it anytime.

On a desktop computer, simply look for the Discord logo icon at the very top left of the screen, right above your list of servers. Click on it to access your DMs.

If you're using a mobile device, tap the back arrow in the top left corner of the screen. You’ll see a messages icon at the top left, above your list of servers. Click on that icon to return to your DMs.

Tip: If you accidentally archived your conversation with the Midjourney Bot and you don't see it in your DMs, you can easily get it back by sending the bot another Direct Message—all your message history is preserved.
