Gain more control over your images with Raw Mode.
What is Raw Mode?
Raw Mode tones down the aesthetic styling and "beautification" that Midjourney automatically applies to your images when using Standard Mode, and instead relies more on the specific details and direction in your prompt.
This gives you more control over the final images, allowing for more specific styles or realism. However, remember that detailed prompts are essential! If your instructions are unclear or lack details, the image might not turn out as visually appealing.
Raw Mode is compatible with Midjourney versions 5.1 and later.
Using Raw Mode
- Add
--style raw
to the end of your prompt in the Imagine bar.
You can also turn on Raw Mode for all your images in the settings panel. To do this, click the settingsbutton in the Imagine bar and set your Mode to Raw. Once you set it, this will apply to all your future prompts.
- Add
--style raw
to the end of your prompt in Discord.
You can also turn on Raw Mode for all your images using the settings command and clicking🔧 RAW Mode
.
In earlier Midjourney versions, the --style
parameter had other functions, which you can read about in our Legacy Features article.
