Upload images directly to Discord to use them with the Midjourney bot
When you're creating images with Midjourney in Discord, you might want to mix things up by using Image Prompts, Character References, or Style References. To do this, the Midjourney bot needs an image URL. If the image you want to use is only on your computer or device (and not already online), don't worry! You can easily upload it to Discord. Once it's uploaded, you'll have an image URL ready to use in your Midjourney prompts.
Upload your Image to Discord
Note: We recommending doing this in a private space in Discord like a Direct Message with the Midjourney bot or in your private server, otherwise other users will be able to see and potentially use your image.
To upload a file, click the +
icon in your Message box. If you're on a desktop, you can also drag and drop an image file directly into the Message box.
Once your file is attached, press enter on your keyboard or hit the send button if you're on a mobile device to upload the image to Discord.
After uploading, it will appear in your chat feed with your username above it. If you still see icons like an eye, pencil, and trash can in the corner of your image, it hasn't fully uploaded, so make sure to send the message.
