This article is for Midjourney subscribers from tax-exempt organizations paying for their subscription. Please note that we cannot modify tax status for individual users. If you're an individual, refer to our other article on how taxes are determined for your subscription.
When Subscribing
During checkout, tick the "I'm purchasing as a business" box that will appear after you enter your payment and address information, if taxes apply. This will reveal fields for entering your tax ID, like an EIN in the United States or a VAT number in applicable countries. This information will appear automatically on future invoices.
Our payment processor will try to validate your tax status and apply any eligible exemptions. If the option doesn’t appear, or if validation fails, you can contact billing support after subscribing to update your account and refund any taxes charged.
After Subscribing
To request a tax exemption or reverse-charge status, contact billing support with the following details:
- Full name on your account
- Billing email address
- Physical billing address
- For VAT countries: Company’s VAT number
- For non-VAT countries: Tax-exempt status documentation, such as a tax exemption certificate
Ensure your subscription’s billing information matches your exemption documentation. Once we confirm your tax status, we’ll update your account and refund any taxes paid for the current calendar year.
Please note: Billing support can only adjust tax status post-subscription. Processing tax exemption requests may take up to two weeks. We cannot alter past invoices, but your updated info will show on future ones.
