You'll also see a shortcut button when you hover your mouse over them from the Create page.</p>\n<p><img src=\"https://docs.midjourney.com/hc/article_attachments/37460844249485\" alt=\"web-animate-video.png\"></p>\n<p>The <strong>Animate Manually</strong> link will give you an opportunity to adjust the text prompt in the Imagine bar before generating the video.</p>\n<p>The <strong>Auto</strong> buttons will automatically start generating a video using your image.</p>\n<p>The <strong>Loop</strong> buttons will automatically start generating a looping video using your image (meaning the starting frame and ending frame are the same image).</p>\n<p>For information on \"Low Motion\" and \"High Motion\" check out the <a href=\"#h_01JXZPK87W40NJP60VAR453XBZ\">Video Motion</a> section below.</p>\n<p><mark>Note:</mark> Any image <a href=\"https://docs.midjourney.com/hc/en-us/articles/32859204029709-Parameter-List\">parameters</a> used to generate your original image will be automatically removed when generating videos.</p>\n<h4 id=\"h_01JY1Q993XAZHYM0YRBHHZ327Q\"><strong>Using Your Own Images</strong></h4>\n<p>To select an image to animate, start by clicking on the image icon <img src=\"https://docs.midjourney.com/hc/article_attachments/37460874798093\" alt=\"image-icon.svg\" width=\"24\" height=\"24\"> in the Imagine bar. This opens the images panel, allowing you to upload new images or pick from those you've already uploaded.</p>\n<p><img src=\"https://docs.midjourney.com/hc/article_attachments/37460844250637\" alt=\"video-prompt-ui.png\"></p>\n<p>Click your image in the uploads library to automatically add it as a Starting Frame, or drag and drop it into the Starting Frame section. If you have <a href=\"https://docs.midjourney.com/hc/en-us/articles/32799074515213-Remix\">Remix Mode</a> turned on, you can edit the prompt text before submitting the video prompt.</p>\n<p>Note: In Midjourney versions 5 and later the <code>U#</code> buttons separate your image from the grid but do not change its size, so they do not consume <a href=\"https://docs.midjourney.com/hc/en-us/articles/32016412137741\">GPU time</a>. In earlier versions these buttons do increase your image size, and will consume GPU time.</p>\n<p><mark>Don't see the Animate buttons?</mark> If you have upscales in Discord that were made before the release of video generations, you can use the <a href=\"https://docs.midjourney.com/hc/en-us/articles/32635695384461\">show command</a> to refresh the buttons.</p>\n<h4 id=\"h_01K0SJF10SE9AJNZ9C24GJAKDP\"><strong>Using Your Own Images</strong></h4>\n<p>To generate a video using your own image, paste your image URL at the beginning of your prompt and then add the <code>--video</code> parameter to the end of your prompt. A text prompt is optional.</p>\n<p><img src=\"https://docs.midjourney.com/hc/article_attachments/38315242025869\" alt=\"discord-video.png\"></p>\n<p>It's important to ensure that you have a valid image URL, meaning the image should already be online. If your image is stored on your computer or device, you can <a href=\"https://docs.midjourney.com/hc/en-us/articles/32558957919117\">host it on Discord</a> to generate an image URL.</p>\n</li>\n</ul><ul class=\"js-toggles\"><li title=\"External Image Rules &amp; Requirements\" data-list-item-id=\"ef15ceb2c124147a50383db1cfa3be264\">\n<p>Midjourney provides you with powerful tools for unleashing your imagination. If you want to conserve <a href=\"https://docs.midjourney.com/hc/en-us/articles/32016412137741\">GPU time</a>, you can choose to generate only 1 or 2 videos from each prompt instead. You can use 1, 2, or 4.</p>\n<p><img src=\"https://docs.midjourney.com/hc/article_attachments/38799353733773\" alt=\"discord-video-batch.png\"></p>\n</li>\n</ul><h2 id=\"h_01JXWQAEH49B5MDC343ZXZT1MY\">Extend Video</h2><p>Video generations start at 5 seconds, but it doesn't have to stop there. After your video is created, you’ll see options to extend it further. This will add another 4 seconds to your video.</p><p>Feel free to extend your video up to 4 times, until it reaches 21 seconds, which is the maximum length available.</p><p>Extending a video costs the same amount of <a href=\"https://docs.midjourney.com/hc/en-us/articles/32016412137741\">GPU time</a> as an initial video generation.</p><ul class=\"js-tabs\">\n<li title=\"On Web\" data-list-item-id=\"ee64d3f9c34eda15ec50ce0332cbd5748\">Look for the \"Extend Auto\" and \"Extend Manual\" buttons when you hover over your video on the Create page, and below the Creation Actions section when you open your video.<ol class=\"list-number\">\n<li data-list-item-id=\"e91b5551943e62b1cc8f68b35484f94f3\">\n<strong>Extend Auto:</strong> This button extends your video automatically, using the original prompt.</li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"e38e794c4ef407ce27118f628a84f5f03\">\n<strong>Extend Manual:</strong> Use the manual option if you’d like to change your prompt text before extending the video. This way, you can tweak or add new elements before submitting for the longer video.</li>\n</ol>\n</li>\n<li title=\"In Discord\" data-list-item-id=\"efec07e7541c372e827e88daa795b87d0\">Use the <code>U1</code> <code>U2</code> <code>U3</code> <code>U4</code> buttons to separate your favorite video from the initial grid, and then look for the <code>Extend (High motion)</code> and <code>Extend (Low motion)</code> buttons. If you have <a href=\"https://docs.midjourney.com/hc/en-us/articles/32799074515213-Remix\">Remix Mode</a> turned on, you can edit the prompt text before submitting the extension prompt.</li>\n</ul><h2 id=\"h_01K0SV3TN33ZQ8T6F1EA03P56K\">Looping &amp; End Frames</h2><p>After selecting an image to use as your starting frame, you also have the option to set an ending frame. If your image is stored on your computer or device, you can <a href=\"https://docs.midjourney.com/hc/en-us/articles/32558957919117\">host it on Discord</a> to generate an image URL.</p>\n</li>\n</ul><h2 id=\"h_01JXZPK87W40NJP60VAR453XBZ\">Video Motion</h2><p>When generating videos, you have two motion settings options to choose from, \"Low Motion\" and \"High Motion.\" Use the corresponding buttons, or add the <code>--motion low</code> or <code>--motion high</code> parameters to the end of your video prompt.</p><ul class=\"list-check\">\n<li data-list-item-id=\"e4b4f187230df3075b9c41e68f964cc23\">\n<strong>Low Motion (default):</strong> is more likely to result in still scenes, low camera motion, slow motion, or subtle character movements.</li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"ed7f188f85bb172f3c52f5a300ca0bf15\">\n<strong>High Motion:</strong> is more likely to result in big camera motions and larger character movements, however it may also create unrealistic or glitchy movements.</li>\n</ul><p>You can also change your default motion setting by loading an image into the Starting Frame section of the Imagine bar and toggling the settings in Motion Amount.</p><h2 id=\"h_01JXZRDR2P0TCWZFVZV1N11WCF\">Video Raw</h2><p>For more precise motion control of your video creations, using the <code>--raw</code> parameter in your video prompts can be helpful. This feature works similarly to <a href=\"https://docs.midjourney.com/hc/en-us/articles/32634113811853-Raw-Mode\">Raw Mode</a> for images.</p><p>When you add <code>--raw</code>, it reduces the extra creative flair that Midjourney usually adds, allowing your prompt text to have more influence on the outcome.</p><h2 id=\"h_01JXZZK6WR94XMKM9GXH2Y4XXQ\">Video Resolution</h2><p>Midjourney videos are generated in 480p quality, also called Standard Definition (SD). If you have the Standard, Pro, or Mega plan you can also generate videos in 720p quality, or High Definition (HD), by adjusting your Video Resolution under More Options in the settings <img src=\"https://docs.midjourney.com/hc/article_attachments/37460844254093\" alt=\"settings-icon.svg\" width=\"24\" height=\"24\"> panel of the Imagine bar .</p><p>The exact shape and size of your video is based on the aspect ratio of your starting image. This means that your video's aspect ratio may be a little different than your starting image.</p><h2 id=\"h_01JXNF6CK1B1JTR1XCWKMBNVAK\">Video Playback on Web</h2><p>Once your videos have finished generating on the Create page, hover your mouse over them to play them.</p><p>You can also manually scrub (play the videos at your own speed) by holding the Control or Command key on your keyboard and moving your mouse back and forth over them. </p><p><img src=\"https://docs.midjourney.com/hc/article_attachments/37460874809997\" alt=\"scrub.gif\"></p><h2 id=\"h_01JYHDKF0JM4VWDHAKW1KNM8FA\">Downloading Videos</h2><p>When you right-click on a video from your Create or Organize page, you'll see three download options:</p><ul class=\"list-check\">\n<li data-list-item-id=\"e3e27c4495ab01e0b44cc3b3ef1f6ac18\">\n<strong>Download for Social:</strong> Use this option if you plan to share your videos on social media.
