It's like making a \"no entry\" list for certain things you don't want to see.</p><p>For example, if you're creating an image and want to make sure certain elements, like fruit or trees, are not included, you simply use the <code>--no</code> parameter followed by those elements. This helps Midjourney understand exactly what to leave out, so your image stays focused on what you do want. You can even list multiple elements by separating them with commas.</p><h4 id=\"h_01JD5FKY21B0YA4CRDPBXRE21H\">\n<img src=\"https://docs.midjourney.com/hc/article_attachments/32173693921933\" alt=\"thumbs-down-icon.svg\" width=\"24px\" height=\"24px\"> Bad Prompt Examples:</h4><div class=\"ml-6\"><p>still life gouache painting without any fruit<br>still life gouache painting, please don't add fruit!</p></div><h4 id=\"h_01JD5FRFTW8TJ2AEEQFAWQ2J7A\">\n<img src=\"https://docs.midjourney.com/hc/article_attachments/32173693925645\" alt=\"thumbs-up-icon.svg\" width=\"24px\" height=\"24px\"> Good Prompt Example:</h4><div class=\"ml-6\"><p>still life gouache painting --no fruit, apple, pear</p></div><p class=\"custom_note\" data-title=\"Important Moderation Note\">Midjourney's moderation system reads every word you add to the <code>--no</code> parameter independently. This means if you prompt \"--no modern clothing\" it will read that as \"no modern\" and \"no clothing\"! This interpretation can accidentally trigger a warning, as it might seem like you’re requesting an image of someone without clothing. In this case, include the type of clothing you do want in your prompt, rather than using <code>--no</code>.</p><h2 id=\"h_01JDJMGKTFCWK8MREPQ4B9X91X\">Using the No Parameter</h2><ul class=\"js-tabs\">\n<li title=\"On Web\" data-list-item-id=\"ea045d6168ca83bf1ba23e477e43c2269\">\n<p>Add <code>--no</code> to the end of your prompt in the Imagine bar, followed by the thing or list of things you don't want in your image.</p>\n<p><img src=\"https://docs.midjourney.com/hc/article_attachments/32175072426509\" alt=\"Using --no on midjourney.com\"></p>\n</li>\n<li title=\"In Discord\" data-list-item-id=\"e9897d7aae250e226e6cfaf678313b02a\">\n<p>Add <code>--no</code> to the end of your prompt in Discord, followed by the thing or list of things you don't want in your image.</p>\n<p><img src=\"https://docs.midjourney.com/hc/article_attachments/32175097839245\" alt=\"Using --no in Discord\"></p>\n</li>\n</ul><h2 id=\"h_01JEY4MV868MSSJB1E0PPJEV74\">More Information</h2><p>Using the <code>--no</code> parameter is the same as weighing part of a multi-prompt to \"-0.5\"<br>For more information, visit our article on <a href=\"https://docs.midjourney.com/hc/en-us/articles/32658968492557\">Multi-Prompts &amp; Weights.</a></p>"}}
